Start here. Search by company name or ticker for financial statements for 15+ years. Select the Filings tab to download recent filings. The Government Filings tab from the main Mergent menu contains a fairly robust search tool for SEC filings.

Select Filings from the main menu or search by company name or ticker to see filings. Use the Filings Wizard to download multiple filing types and for multiple companies. Compare filings and use Blackline Now to find changes.
Restricted to only current SMU students, faculty & staff. Database works best with Chrome.
Use the FactSet Excel add-in for additional data functionality, available from a limited number of dedicated computers in the Business Library that don't require an individual account.

Bloomberg
Use the function FA to view and customize current and historical financial statements for public companies.
Restricted to only current SMU students, faculty & staff. Available only in the Business Library on the lower level of Hamon Arts Library. Use the Excel Add-In to obtain and organize Bloomberg data in spreadsheets. Information about the Bloomberg Certification program.

Under a company's page, select SEC Filings from News, Events & Filings to download a variety of reports including Blackline, which shows changes.
Restricted to only current SMU students, faculty & staff. Ask a Business Librarian for an individual login. Also available in the Business Library on the lower level of Hamon Arts Library. Use the S&P Capital IQ Excel add-in for additional data functionality. Available from a limited number of dedicated computers.

EDGAR
Search for company filings directly on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) site in Filings at the top. Includes tutorial and search methods under the heading "How to Search EDGAR."

WRDS This link opens in a new window
Contains Compustat, a database with extensive financial statement information that can be selected in many ways. Useful for downloading large datasets for a wide range of years.
Restricted to only current SMU students, faculty & staff. Account required and limited to faculty, staff, PhD and Masters students. Undergraduates can apply for a 3-day pass that works on campus. Subscription datasets include Capital IQ, COMPUSTAT, CRSP, Datastream, Eventus, Guidance Feed, I/B/E/S, Mergent FISD, OptionMetrics, SDC, and Thomson/Refinitiv 13F Ownership, Mutual Fund Ownership, and Insider Data.

Public company websites may include recent SEC filings on a page with a heading like Investor Relations.
