Tips for International News Search
Language barriers can cause difficulties when using or searching for international newspapers.
- Digitized content can be translated with tools like Google Translate.
- If you're searching for foreign language content, your search terms need to be in that language.
- All of our historical international news databases are in English.
Library databases are the best place to start for complicated searches and for historical newspapers.
Online newspapers can be advantageous in allowing for site search but the results are often limited and date ranges vary based on individual newspapers.
Be sure to consider how free the country's press when evaluating the information you find.
