Here are some organizations and resources to support social justice movements. There are many organizations that are doing amazing work and we will update this section every semester to feature more.

Black Lives Matter Resources

Black Lives Matter
Founded in 2013 in response to the acquittal of Trayvon Martin’s murderer. Their mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities.
Color of Change
The nation’s largest online racial justice organization helping people respond effectively to injustice in the world around us.
National Black Justice Coalition
NBJC mission is to end racism, homophobia, and LGBTQ+/ Same Gender Loving (SGL) bias and stigma. NBJC supports Black individuals, families, and communities in strengthening the bonds and bridging the gaps between the movements for racial justice and LGBTQ+/SGL equity.
Equal Justice Intitative
Committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.

The 1619 Project is an ongoing initiative from The New York Times Magazine that began in August 2019, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe the country’s history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative.

Stop AAPI Hate
A coalition created by The Asian Pacific Planning and Policy Council (A3PCON), Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA), and the Asian American Studies Department of San Francisco State University that tracks and responds to incidents of hate, violence, harassment, discrimination, shunning, and child bullying against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the United States.

Asian Americans Advancing Justice
A nonprofit legal advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the civil rights of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) in Georgia and the Southeast.
