Library Information for New Law Students: Our Building

Welcome to Your Law Library

We’ve got four floors, each with its own personality (and purpose).

1st floor - The Pit

  • Ground floor, lovingly nicknamed "The Pit"
  • Walsh & Hillcrest classrooms
  • Vending machines (and nearby bathrooms)
  • Law Review offices

2nd Floor - The Hub

  • Circulation desk for checking out books and materials
  • Study spaces: open tables, carrels, and group study rooms
  • Cases, statutes, regulations, and Texas secondary sources

3rd Floor - The Social Study Spot

  • Student lounge with 3 refrigerators, 2 microwaves, games, and a TV
  • Computer lab
  • Study spaces: open tables, carrels, and group study rooms
  • Law journals and periodicals

4th Floor - The Quiet Zone

  • Our "Absolute Silence" floor
  • Open tables and carrels
  • Treatises and monographs

Bathrooms

  • Men'sSouth end of the building on every floor
  • Women's: North end of the building on every floor
  • Note: On the first floor, they're right by the vending machines.
