We will discuss how your search staregies apply to searching for specific types of data sets. 

  • How should you search?
    • Where (what databases) should you search?
    • What search terms should you use?
      • data, data sets
        • What type of data are you looking for ? (numeric,spatial, text, audio, visual, relational/network etc.)
      • look for APIs
    • Does your topic give you any search terms?
  • Citation mining:
    • Like any other primary resources, datasets require acknowledgement. Datasets should be cited. They may also be addressed in the methodology section.
