In 1992, Academy Award-winning actress Greer Garson Fogelson (1904-1996) donated her papers to Bywaters Special Collections; she and her husband, Col. E.E. “Buddy” Fogelson, were longtime friends of Jake and Nancy Hamon. Totaling approximately seventy linear feet, this collection chronicles Greer Garson’s acting career, family life and many philanthropic activities through correspondence, photographs, slides, film and theater scripts, newspaper and magazine articles, programs, awards, and scrapbooks. Consists of musical scores composed or arranged by this twentieth-century American composer. The American composer Grofé (1892-1972) is best known for his Grand Canyon Suite which, unfortunately, is not represented at SMU. The collection consists of approximately 5,000 items from the composer’s personal library, comprising some manuscript arrangements, but primarily orchestrations including the complete Schirmer’s Galaxy Library and the E.B.
