National Geologic Map Database 

Library of Congress American Memory Maps Collection    Cartographic treasures of the Library of Congress. These images were created from maps and atlases that, in general, are not covered by copyright protection.

Perry Castaneda Map Library    The University of Texas's Perry Castaneda Map Library offers digitized versions of more than 44,000 map images (out of 250,000 maps in the printed collection). Images include historical, thematic & topographic maps of the world, continents, countries and states.

Old Maps Online     An easy to use portal for digitized historical maps in libraries around the world.

AAPG Datapages   The combined search-and-retrieval website for AAPG publications and related collections. Includes full-text and abstracts.  Select AAPG from Databases by Title.

List of Soil Surveys by State  Use to find county names and dates of print Soil Surveys.  Purchase or obtain in the library from the Map or Government Documents Librarians.

Scripps Institution of Oceanography  Includes links to hundreds of oceanography sites divided into main categories such as library resources and databases, electronic texts and periodicals, and Internet guides and indexes.

Aerial Maps

DFW aerial photography is for sale at the website of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the website of the USGS, Aerial Photographs and Satellite Images.  The  Edwin J. Foscue Map Library at Southern Methodist University also has a selection of Historic Dallas Aerial Photographs.
