Once you have a topic and some cases and news sources, you might want to see what other scholars are saying about your problem. These resources will help you find scholarly academic conversations on your topic.

Books

Many scholarly books are collected works, which means that each chapter is like a journal article. When you find relevant books on your topic, you just scored a lot of sources! Below are some tips on finding books easily.

  1. Many books on law may be at Underwood Law Library - you are allowed to check these out.
  2. In the Advanced Library Search, choose to search just the Library Catalog to limit your results to books.
  3. Using appropriate subject terms will really help narrow your results. In the Advanced Library Search, choose to limit your search box field to "Here are some suggestions:
    • Privacy, right of -- United States
    • Freedom of the Press -- United States
    • Mass media -- Moral and Ethical Aspects
    • Press Law -- United States
    • Freedom of Information -- United States
