SMU Athletic History: Digital Sources

Currently, the student newspaper is online from 1915 to May 2018. The newspapers are indexed from Fall 1915 - 2002. These indices are available in Fondren Library (call number LH1.S66 S65) and in Fondren Library’s Centennial Reading Room.

Like most publications, The Daily Campus at SMU has an active online presence with stories updated often. During the semesters, there are also TV updates. The Daily Campus currently prints a weekly edition. On this page, you can find articles from 2002 to the present day.

Currently, the student newspaper is online from 1915 to 1981. The years 1981 to 2009 are available on microfilm in Fondren Library. The newspapers are indexed from Fall 1915 - 2002. These indices are available at the Fondren Library Reference Desk. After 2002, the Daily Campus was no longer indexed since it was stored online and easily searchable.

Contains 72 videotaped oral histories by leading administrators, faculty, staff, and others with significant ties to the University, whose careers spanned many decades at SMU. The interviews were created between 2000 and 2005.

The Rotunda has been the Student Yearbook since the first graduation year--1916. Rotundas have been digitized from 1916 to 2005 as a way to celebrate SMU's centennial. More current issues can be found in the SMU Libraries. Searching the online Rotundas can be difficult. Sometimes it is just better to go to the print edition.

By late September or early October of 1915, when this booklet was produced, SMU already had a football schedule and twenty official cheers and songs. The SMU Archives also has copies of Cheer books from other years that have not been digitized.
