The William C. Martin Papers document the life and career of a twentieth-century Methodist minister who was elected to the office of bishop in 1938 and served as President of the National Council of Churches of Christ from 1952 to 1954. The collection includes office files, correspondence, sermons and other public addresses, diaries, photographs, artifacts, and research materials on the lives of Methodist bishops.
