Does SMU have the article?

Finding out if SMU has an article can be done just a handful of steps.

At any point, if you are uncertain or have a question, please Ask A Librarian

We are here to help you.  Really.

1)  Is it full text in the database you are currently searching?

Sometimes articles are available full-text in the database you are searching and you simply have to click on the link to see the full text.

2)  Check other SMU Options

If it is not full text in the database you are searching, you will need to find out if SMU has it.  We may have it full text in a different database or in print, as part of a journal.

In EBSCO databases, there is a blue, rectangular box to click in order to find it if this article is available full text online.

Other times, such as with InfoTrac, you may have to look for a link with "check other SMU options," and then click it.

3)  Article Linker

Often, the full text of an article is available through a different database.

4)  Library Catalog

If the article is not available online, check to see if any of the SMU Libraries have it in print by "Searching the library catalog by title."

Yes!  We do have this issue of the journal at the DeGolyer Library.

If you have difficulty interpreting the periodical records, Ask a Librarian.

5)  Interlibrary Loan

If SMU does not have the article, you can request it through ILL.  However, you may want to ask a librarian for help before exploring this option.

Please Ask a Librarian if you have any further questions.
