Hello and welcome to SMU-in-Taos.  This guide is designed to give you the most important library resources.

Access to Online Resources

Access to online resources from the Fort Burgwin campus requires users to enter their last name and library barcode number from the back of the SMU ID card.

Discover SMU Libraries

Search all SMU's library databases to find articles, books, DVDs, and more. Discover is especially helpful for introductory or interdisciplinary searching.

Help with Searching

Library Catalogs

SMU Libraries Catalog:  Online listing of books, serials, journal titles, videos and more.  Names of journals are listed but not articles within the journals.  Select the location "Taos NM Fort Burgwin Library All" to limit searches to Fort Burgwin Library materials.

Discover SMU Libraries:   The SMU Libraries provide the Discover SMU Libraries search in order to provide one simple search interface for a wide range of library resources. It searches through a massive collection of books, scholarly journals, newspaper articles, e-books, dissertations, conference proceedings, and numerous academic databases. Rather than search for all of these things in separate databases, the Discover SMU Libraries search lets you find them all at once, quickly and easily. Even better, it's tied directly to what is available through SMU Libraries, online or in print.

Most Frequently Used Online Journal Indexes

Academic Onefile:  A collection of peer-reviewed, full-text articles in HTML and PDF format with coverage of the physical sciences.

Academic Search Complete: A scholarly, multidisciplinary database providing indexing and abstracts for over 10,000 publications.
