Library Hours

Fondren Library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week once regular semester classes begin.  Fondren Library does close for certain holidays or semester interims.  Check Fondren Library hours.

Renewing library materials

If you need your library material longer, you can Renew your material online.  This must be done before the materials are overdue.

Looking for a Library Job?

Students are hired to work in practically all areas of the library.  All Library student jobs go through MustangTrak.

Reserving a Group Study Room in Fondren Library

If you and your classmates want to study together, make a reservation for a group study room by going to the Fondren Library Center Room Reservation website.

You must have your SMU ID card to:

- Check out library materials.

- Get into the library after 9:00 pm.

- Use as a print card for computer work or photocopies.

- Access library online resources from off campus.

Contact SMU Park N' Pony for information on how to get your SMU ID card and have your Pony account activated.

Printing, Photocopying and Scanning

Printing from library computers can be accomplished using black & white, duplex or color printers located on the first floor of Fondren Library East.

Printing is 10 cents a page and is paid by either money on your PonyExpress account on your SMU ID or on a purchased copy card.  No cash is accepted for prints.

There is a machine in the first floor Fondren Library East to accept cash to encode value onto your SMU PonyExpress account once your account is set up at Park 'N Pony.  This machine accepts only bills.

There are two photocopyers on the first floor of Fondren Library East.  Copies are 10 cents if paid by copy card or PonyExpress.  If coins are used, copies are 15 cents.

There is a free KIC scanner on the first floor Fondren East that can save your scans to a flashdrive or email.
